Bureau of Land Management Formative Collection

The Formative period dates from between C.E. 900 - 1100. This period saw the shift from nomadic hunter - gatherer groups to more setteled communities with a heavier reliance on agriculture. It included tool traditions such as the Anasazi, Fremont, Gateway and Aspen traditions.
