Description:
(1) A Desert Side–notched P.P. Late Prehistoric. White metaquartzie. Tri–notched. 3.26cm
long, 1.48cm. wide, 0.29cm.thick. Complete.
(2) Shoshone knife. One corner of the base missing. Gray opalitic chert. Not completely
cleaned. 6.12cm. long, 3.42cm. wide, 0.91cm. thick. Light bulb shaped.
(3) Shoshone knnife. Gray opalitic chert. Light bulb shaped 4.65cm. long, 2.75cm. wide,
0.71cm. thick.
(4) "Fremont knife". Large biface blade. P.B. thinks it is a complete specimen. Proximal
end appears to be snap fractured,but there are step flake scars along the edge of the
fracture perpendicular to the fracture. Blade edges are dulled. Reddish–brown meta–
quartzite. 12.7cm. long, 6.95cm. wide, 1.7cm. thick.
(5) Frag. of a "Fremont knife". Proximal end. Appears to be the same material at #4.
4.75cm. long, 5.47cm. wide, 1.36cm. thick.

VE Exhibit Label 1:
"Shoshone knife." A lightbulb shaped biface blade made of gray opalitic chert. One corner of the base is missing.A biface blade is identified by its size and through the flaking found on both sides of the tool.
